BrightLoop rejoint ABB : écrire ensemble le prochain chapitre de l’électrification
1 octobre 2025Beyond Aero reaches a major milestone in hydrogen-electric propulsion
Beyond Aero has reached a major milestone in the development of its full-scale hydrogen-electric propulsion system for aerospace applications.
BrightLoop is proud to support this breakthrough in sustainable aviation. The achievement was validated through a comprehensive test campaign at Beyond Aero’s new hydrogen-electric powertrain lab in Toulouse, France — one of the most advanced facilities in Europe, capable of testing up to 1.2 MW of power across multiple fuel cell channels.
The propulsion system integrates technologies from several leading partners. BrightLoop’s high-performance aerospace DC-DC converters play a key role in enabling efficient power conversion between the hydrogen fuel cell and the aircraft’s electrical systems, ensuring lightweight and reliable operation in demanding environments.
This milestone marks a significant step toward the certification and market entry of Beyond Aero’s BYA-1 hydrogen-electric business aircraft, developed in close collaboration with EASA and leading aerospace suppliers such as EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies, FEV Aerospace, AVL, Dassault Systèmes, and Airbus Protect.
“This achievement confirms that hydrogen-electric propulsion can operate at full scale under real conditions — bringing the industry closer to zero-emission flight,” said Eloa Guillotin, CEO of Beyond Aero.
BrightLoop congratulates Beyond Aero and all partners involved in this milestone. Together, we continue to push the boundaries of clean and efficient power for the future of aviation.
