BrightLoop is now in Japan!
24 January 2025BrightLoop Partners with SEEDERAL to Develop the First Natively Electric Tractor
Agricultural activities are a major contributor to global CO2 emissions, and this contribution is likely to increase as demand for food rises in line with population growth. What’s more, a significant proportion of the sector’s emissions are linked to agricultural machinery, which consumes a lot of fuel, adding to the environmental burden.
This observation prompted SEEDERAL to embark on the development of a native electric tractor, undergoing trials in real-life conditions last spring. The results and positive feedback from future customers validate the serial production of these tractors.
To achieve this, SEEDERAL has chosen to collaborate with BrightLoop on an essential component of the electrical system: the HT-BT bidirectional converter. There are two main reasons for this collaboration:
- Our DCDC MP converter converts HV battery voltage (from 600 to 800 Vdc) in both directions to 2 LV networks (12V and 48Vdc) and vice versa. This meets all SEEDERAL’s requirements in terms of compactness, robustness, power and the possibility of configuring the DCDC MP to its specific needs, such as: a 12V bus for auxiliaries and a 48V bus for larger consumers.
- The DCDC MP converter, which belongs to our Performance range, enabled SEEDERAL to explore the best possible electrical architectures, choose the most suitable configuration and quickly build its first demonstrator.
SEEDERAL has high ambitions and wants to take the next step to develop its series electric tractor. With the DCDC MO, Brightloop offers a cost optimized version of the DCDC MP, providing the economic performance required for future mass production.
