11 July 2024BrightLoop-GCK Mobility’s Strategic Partnership for Heavy Vehicle Decarbonization
BrightLoop and GCK Mobility are pleased to announce their collaboration to contribute to heavy vehicle decarbonization. By providing efficient and easy-to-implement retrofit kit solutions featuring cutting-edge HVLV DCDC converters, they aim to support companies in transitioning their existing fleets to electric power.
Trucks and buses, significant emitters in the growing transport sector, are a major concern in the energy transition. Due to economic constraints, only 0.1% of trucks and 4% of buses worldwide are electric. Beyond polluting internal combustion engines (ICE) and the high cost of new electric vehicles, retrofitting offers a viable alternative. Retrofitting can extend the lifespan of a vehicle while providing the immediate benefits of a cleaner engine, making it an environmentally and economically advantageous solution. And that’s what GCK, which specializes in vehicle retrofitting, is doing with the support of BrightLoop.
At the core of its retrofit kits, GCK incorporates the top-tier HVLV converters from BrightLoop’s Performance range. These converters, known for their enhanced electrical and thermal performance, are also compact and lightweight, ensuring seamless integration into GCK retrofit systems. Looking ahead, BrightLoop plans to introduce its Optimum range by the end of 2025.
“Designed for mid and high-volume production, these HVLV converters will deliver up to 12 kW/600A. The Optimum version of our converters will offer performance and cost-effectiveness to companies wishing to contribute to the energy transition right now,” says Florent Liffran, BrightLoop’s CEO.
