27 September 2024BrightLoop acquires SID-Group
BrightLoop has acquired French machining services provider SID Group. The transaction was completed on June 26, 2024. The acquired business will continue to operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of BrightLoop under the new name BrightLoop Mechanics.
Prior to the acquisition, SID-group was already a major supplier of machined parts to BrightLoop, particularly high precision converter housings. By securing its supply chain for these critical parts, BrightLoop underscores its industrial growth strategy in a fast-moving market fueled by high demand for power converters, an indispensable component of the clean energy transition.
In addition, the company owns a unique friction stir welding (FSW) process and proprietary tools, integrated into a machining tower. This allows precision welding to be performed in the same setup as machining. The process enables production of converter housings with integrated 3D cooling circuits that offer unparalleled precision, ruggedness, compactness and cost efficiency.
“This acquisition streamlines both our industrial and innovation capacity. With the team at BrightLoop Mechanics we share a passion for technology that pushes the boundaries of what is possible,” said Florent Liffran, CEO of BrightLoop.
“We are excited to be part of BrightLoop’s extraordinary adventure. Our skilled team will continue to drive innovation and responsiveness at BrightLoop,” added Pierre Pereira, Technical Manager at BrightLoop Mechanics.
